The MAYO Performing Arts Center was built in 1937 and originally used as a movie theatre. It’s located just a short drive from Rockaway Township, Denville, and Persippany-Troy Hills. Years after the community theatre was built, it was refurbished by a group of volunteers. Today, the MPAC is one of New Jersey’s famous cultural and arts organizations which hosts over 200,000 patrons per year.
The 2015 season includes an excellent lineup of performances contemporary and classical. Some of these events include the following:

The Temptations and the Four Tops get together for yet another performance together. The Temptations have been singing together since the mid 50’s when they were just a trio in Birmingham. The Four Tops released their first single in 1956 and have spent every year since making and performing music everywhere they go. With 24 top 40 pop hits under their belt the group is a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
Russian National Ballet Theatre presents Swan Lake on April 16th at 8:00 P.M. From Russian folktales, the ballet tells the story of a beautiful princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse. Tickets to the show range from $29 to $59. Tickets are on sale now but will likely sell out quickly.
Laughter and Reflection with Carol Burnett is a Q & A with legendary comedian Carol Burnett. She’ll share notable moments from her career as a comedian and from her classic television show.
