Prevent Child Abuse 5K Run/Walk: Taking place in New Brunswick on Saturday, April 18, it’s hard to imagine how anyone without feet wouldn’t want to be part of an event like this. This year the Prevent Child Abuse NJ 5K is superhero themed, filled with fun run activities, photos, and awards and prizes that will be presented to adults and children for the best superhero costume. All ages are eligible to participate. Some co-sponsors for this event include Snapple, Sigma Tau Delta, Road Runner Sports, and Starbucks New Brunswick.

Madison Education Foundation 5K: Many of us have children, have seen them grow and go off to college, or are planning on having children sometime in the future. We all have a vested interest in raising kids who will be able to take on the challenges of the 21st century and beyond for the Garden State. So it’s no surprise that the Madison Education Foundation 5K Walk/Run is such a hit.

The proceeds from this event go to awarding grants to K-12 teachers for initiatives that will light a fire beneath our kids right here in Morris County. Budgets are crunched for teachers these days, and the need for inventive thoughts inside and outside the classroom has never been stronger. The event will be held at 10 am at Madison High School on Sunday, May 3.

Whippany Fire Company 5K: Firefighters often are unsung heroes, and anyone who doesn’t see value in helping out with the Whippany Fire Company 5K may have blinders on.
