The 2019 INFINITI Q50 turns a sporty midsize sedan into a luxurious conveyance. It’s available in four trims starting with the Pure, continuing with the midrange Luxe and Sport, and topping out with the Red Sport 400. All trims come in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions, some with 2.0-liter or 3.0-liter engines, and with varying options. You can determine which options are available on which trims by visiting your INFINITI dealer in Denville, New Jersey.
The sculpted Q50 evokes excitement when you view its aerodynamic lines. In the rear, the crescent-shaped window arcs evoke motion while allowing rear passengers greater visual space. In the front, the bold grille is flanked by multimode jeweled headlamps highlighted by LED Daytime Running Lights.
The headlamps turn on and off automatically based on external lighting conditions. They also compensate for undulations in the road with automatic load leveling and aim their beams in the direction of your turn. The aluminum-alloy wheels are available in 17, 18, or 19 inches.
You can dominate the road with the available 3.0-liter Twin-Turbo V6 that generates up to 400 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque while getting up to 26 MPG on the highway and 19 MPG in the city. It flourishes with two turbo speed sensors, dual water pumps, and a water-cooled air charging system. A 300-horsepower version of the engine increases fuel economy to 27 MPG on the highway.
The standard 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 generates up to 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It maxes out efficiency to 30 MPG on the highway and 23 MPG in the city with the help of Idle Stop/Start. When you’re at a stop, the engine shuts down and restarts again when you’re ready to go.
All engines rely on an aluminum block and heads and are mated to an electronically controlled seven-speed automatic with Adaptive Shift Control. An algorithm learns your driving style to shift accordingly. You can engage Manual Shift Mode when you want to choose gearshifts manually with Downshift Rev Matching.
The five-seat interior can be upholstered in leatherette or Semi-Aniline Quilted Leather and surrounded by available Kacchu Aluminum trim. Both you and your front passenger get eight power adjustments while you enjoy power lumbar and torso support with a manual thigh extension. The rear seat folds in a 60/40-split and includes a center armrest and pass-thru. Available heated front seats and a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel keep you cozy on winter days.
Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control with Auto-Recirculation enables you and your front passenger to define individual comfort levels. Your chosen temperatures automatically compensate for external weather changes. Those in the rear get their own console-mounted air vents and floor heater ducts.
Available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive monitors the speed and wheelspin of the Q50 and sends up to half of available power to the front wheels to improve traction. When such road grip isn’t needed, all the power ends up with the rear wheels. Tailor your street experiences with the Drive Mode Selector: Sport boosts performance and handling, Eco improves efficiency, and Standard balances performance and efficiency for normal cruising. When winter comes, Snow mode handles the tougher weather conditions. You can also customize your own settings with Personal mode.

Feel more confident in the Q50 with such driver assists as Forward Emergency Braking. If it determines that a collision is imminent, it alerts you and then engages braking to minimize or prevent an accident. Lane Departure Prevention senses if you’re leaving your lane without engaging a turn signal. It then warns you before adjusting steering torque to bring you back in line.
Lane Control helps keep you centered in your lane even on uneven roads or during strong wind gusts. So that you can maneuver easily in more crowded spaces, the Around View® Monitor composes a virtual top-down view of your surroundings. Moving Object Detection warns you of moving hazards within the video image.
